I have crochet hooks for Bavarian crochet and the short ones, and long crochet hooks for Tunisian crochet.
With the short hooks my next crochet is mystical lanterns by Jane crowfoot, I have to goi and find the ones I have already made in my craft cupboard and carry on making some more . This is what they look like my ones I will go and find and take a photo of them . This next photo is of what I am aiming for.
Mystical lanterns by Jane crowfoot.
I found my mystical lanterns.
Handy handles there, Sarah!
MT you are great at crochet, I have been doing it for 50 years so I know how to read an advanced pattern , keep going and get interested in a project and you will make things that are more advanced.
Absolutely amazing!
I cringe with shame at my own meagre makes!
Stunning, Linda! 🤩
I gave my plain metal hooks away, I found they hurt my hand too much, I have early onset arthritis though. I'm not sure I could cope with the long hooks, I get so frustrated with knitting needles because the yarn gets wrapped around the ends.
These are my hooks,
Most of the hooks are Clover Amour hooks, they are my favourite, the hook part is brushed metal and the slippiest I've ever found in a hook, People rave about the Tulip Etime hooks 2nd from right in the picture a little pink hook, they are pretty hooks and the hook is slippy but not as much as the brushed Amour ones. Also they are very slightly shorter and less chunky so they are harder for me to grip and the shortness means the end presses slightly into my hand which after crocheting for a long time can be super annoying. The one on the far right is a 'The Crochet Lite' and lights up they are comfortable to hold but unfortunately a plastic hook which I suppose they have to be for the light to work, but the plastic can grip the yarn and make it harder to crochet .I have a whole set but I only use them when working with black yarn or very dark colours to help me see the stitches.
I'm wondering if we could collaborate on an article for the blog on crochet hook types?
Wondered where this shape came from , thanks for sharing
