I’ve put these out to help with the birds collecting nesting materials - they started taking bits very quickly. One is for the ground feeder and the other is in the hanging feeder. Contains straw, wool, feathers, fabric cut into thin strips etc etc. I will bring them in at night and if it rains.
Maritrez I am trying to find a spot protected from rain and high winds , the North Sea at the end of my street is ruthless , it’s such a good idea too .

At the minute, I'd be running in and out whenever it rains. Must look for a sheltered spot!

It’s a great idea. I give bits like that to my mum and daughter and they do the same in their gardens. x
I also do this with my tiny bits, if only I could use up my 'small' bits too big for the birds but too small for me to do anything with.
I have put the cats' fur out for the birds, just pushed into a bush where they all sit. we watched a blue tit fly off with a ginger "moustache" yesterday.
