I am also making a rice bag for June, and have done Japanese embroidery Sashiko. Very quick to do on my second panel, and will incorporate the fox and caterpillar on the way.

It’s metallic crochet thread liz, and not too bad to work with, I have a couple of other pieces of sashiko printed pattern on white material, and will do that some time in thin cotton crochet coloured thread.
It’s very original being japanese the embroidery is lovely linda
is that second panel done in metalic Thread , I hate working with it but it gives a lovely finish
