Today is a baking and preset ing day. I made the cake for johns birthday week end I don't think it will last till Tuesday.
I made my usual sponge cake, lined a round baking tin with greased proof paper, put dark brown sugar over the bottom then I sliced Asian pears on top of that (I didn't peel the Asian pears you could do the same with eating apples ) then I put my sponge mixture on top and baked it in the oven until a knif cam out clean . Turned up side down on the plate peeled off the baking paper and this is what it looks like.

it sounds delicious, i love pears. I wish my husband wasn't on a diet right now, I'd feel bad if I tempted him.
